📢 Taste panels progress!
The teams have been busy test-tasting these past few months as part of our promise to conduct taste panels in 4 countries and 5 locations! The products were goat milk, goat cheese, chicken eggs and chicken meat, all originating from our pilot farms involved in Code: Re-farm.
So, how did it go down during the 🥛 & 🧀, and the 🥚 & 🍗 taste panels in Greece, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Italy?
Two groups of taste panels were organized within in Code: Re-farm: a) trained panelists, b) consumer panelists. In Greece the taste panels were organized in two locations, one by the Agricultural University of Athens and another one at the Αριστοτέλειο Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλονίκης | Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). In the Netherlands they were organized by the Aeres University of Applied Sciences Dronten. In Italy by the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche and in Switzerland by REM Analytics. Both trained and consumer panels were organized in all 5 locations.
The purpose of the panels is to assess the sensory – or organoleptic- traits of milk and cheese, chicken meat and eggs originating from different farming systems.
So…
Are these products different? How different ? Is it easy to tell the difference? Is there a preference?
We currently, are busy with data analysis but we will be publishing our results in the coming months! The photos below are from the taste panels organized by AUA, AERES and REM for both trained panelists and consumers.
