Understand the relationship between intrinsic quality & husbandry in goat & poultry production systems

The study will cover 3 different production lines for the poultry industry. For each line, 2 different husbandry systems will be investigated. For the goats industry, one production line (milk production) will be investigated, focusing on breeds with: 1) High and 2) Medium milk production potential. For each breed, 2 different husbandry systems will be studied.

Study future challenges of goat and poultry industry and suggest relevant modifications and alternative business models & ecosystem management practices. Increase the added value of products

We will explore future challenges in existing farming systems and the accompanying value chains. We will also establish an inventory of contemporary and new business models to address these future challenges. The results of the analysis will be used to develop new business models that fit sustainable, consumer-demand-compatible business.

Develop novel tools/methods for product quality assessments along the value chain, as well as for animal behaviour, health and stress analysis

Novel technology tools will be developed and used to support the implementation of the study, but also to facilitate beyond-project product lifecycle and animal welfare monitoring

Develop a Product Intelligent Analytics Platform for quality monitoring and management of goat and poultry products

To get rich insight from the collected data on products’ quality, related to animal welfare, husbandry systems and productivity indexes. It will facilitate data gathering, visualization and analysis.
